Well what can I say? With my inherent racist tendencies when it comes to whiskies, I'm shocked that none of the top 5 prices are from Scotland (4 Karuizawa and 1 Yamazaki) and only 2 make it into the top 10, both Macallan but that's not a surprise

My take on it is that has very little to do with the whisky itself and everything to do with the people willing to pay so much to own it. Japanese have their idiosyncrasies when it comes to the value of objects, and age has a lot to do with this.
Of course, I'm not an expert, just a nihilist
