But would like to get the missus another Dalmore Port Wood - she really liked that!

If any of you live near Halewood Factory Outlet on Ackhurst Road, Chorley then it's worth a visit.

It's a bottle filling factory and sell gins, vodkas, ales, rums. They have sold whiskey but not sure if they have any at the moment as I haven't been for a couple of months

Cheaper than supermarkets as well

Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 10Yr 70Cl

I like this one a little too much, thought it was fantastic and currently below £30 (from £40)

Tesco have the Penderyn Madeira Finish for £25 with clubcard.
Bought one recently and it's the best Penderyn I've had, never been too keen on the others tbh.

if you want to spend a bit more Amazon have Tobermoray 12yr for £39, but it looks like my order came out at 43, must have had to pay for delivery or something. Not sure if that's a particularly good deal but I'm happy with it! Tobermoray is lovely 🙂

Picked up Jura 14yr old for £25 from Tesco. Never had it before, no idea if it's a good deal, but I've got a sore throat so hopefully this'll help at bed time 😋

Lots of clubcard offers on whisky in Tesco at moment.

Booths is usually pretty good for whisky and the Bunnahabhain is pretty reasonable atm.

It's not particularly a deal as such, but I have just discovered Tamnuvulin (especially the sherry cask edition). It's only £23 in my local Co-op and it's a fantastic drink.

Woodford Reserve is £25 in Tesco at the moment, I'd take that over most of the malts you can pick up for under £30. I had a bottle of the Laphroaig 10 at 40 proof not long ago, it was a shadow of what it used to be.

Aberlour 12 is £30 (£9 off) in Sainsburys at the mo, they're one of my favourite distilleries.

Just had a look at what else they have on offer:

Bulleit Bourbon £20 (I prefer the Rye one but it's trickier to get hold of)
Tamnavulin Double Cask £22
Penderyn £27 - lovely stuff

On a whim I bought a bottle of that there Bunnahabhain Stiureadair, i usually stick to age statemented whiskies but was seduced by some of the online reviews and the price. Tried a dram the other night and i'm underwhelmed. Its harsh and lacks depth, with a salty tang (don't mind that bit). Interesting is probably the best I could say about it. I guess its just too young. Back to age statements from now on.

Laphroaig Select (their budget whisky) for £23 with a Clubcard at Tesco.
Its very nice, nothing like their usual cough medicine derived smoky stuff. Very mild, and well worth the £23.

I'm with you there @gallowayboy. With the possible exception of uigeadail, corryvreckan and An oa from Ardbeg. Oh and Ailsa Bay. I like peat and smoke.

I quite like that.

Tamnavulin is (IMHO) consistently excellent and also very reasonably priced. Tesco have it on a Clubcard special price at the moment and you can usually find it on Amazon at a discount.

If you're going for Bunnahabhain (one of my favourite distilleries) then either the 10yr old or Toiteach A Dhà (translates as Smoky Two) awesome.

I'm a big fan of Tamdhu 10, and £28 on there is a pretty decent price.

another vote here for Tamnuvulin if you not wanting to spend too much. Easily the best in it's price range. Just checked Amazon and they have the sherry cask and the double cask for £20! take yer pick!

When do we see deals come back post Christmas/ New Year as they are a bit eye watering at the moment ?

A friend sent me a bottle of Ardbeg uigeadail last year and I would like to replace it, but can't justify spending that much.
