Bit boring I know, but I need some waterproof suncream for a kitesurfing holiday. Is there any particular one you surfers/kiters/paddle boarders recommend? I can only seem to find kids ones which say 'waterproof'. Not sure I really need a spf50+ one. I could be wrong though

P20 - used surfing for years. Not found anything else that stays on. I use it for all outdoor activities now as a single application solution

Comes in lots of different sun factor strengths

Boots kids stays on, but it's SPF50.

Ultrasun. Only one we use now, have done for the last 5 years. Doesn't cause skin irritation on the kids and lasts all day. Also doesn't strain everything it touches. Also comes in a sports gel formula. The best stuff.

Yeah, P20 works, though it is quite stainy. I always found it OK as long as you put it on before clothes and let it fully dry. Ultrasun all the way now, because it also works and is nicer to apply with no stain concerns.

P20. Just make sure you put it on first thing and give it 10-15 mins to dry before getting any clothes on.

had a few years of yellow stained clothes via P20, until we found calypso.

lasts all day, i use the SPF10, wife uses SPF20. just apply once a day, go swimming etc, we never need to re-apply and we dont burn either. all good here.

fair bit cheaper than P20 too.

My default answer is always Sol RX. Water and sweat proof for 8 hours. Been using it for years windsurfing, sailing, kayaking triathlon etc. Used to be called Prosport.
It’s a cream rather than clear which I prefer.

I use the waterproof SPF50 as sold for children; I understood the labelling to mean children need SPF50, not that it's unsuitable for adults. The glare off the sea is significant.

Zinc based paste for bits that get a lot of sun. Expensive but you only need a tiny bit. I use surfmud

Whichever one you go for don’t forget to check the ingredients are coral friendly…

Yes, P20. When we go to Vass the early morning cry of "Do my back" rings around the place. Early morning sweaty bike ride, rest of the day on the water and it's only the bits you've missed (top of ears anybody?) that sting.

There's an offer on the Ultrasun website that looks good value. Triple pack of body, face and lip protection for about half RRP. I use the Sport range

I switched to it a year or so back when my favourite Aloe Gator stuff disappeared. Prefer it the P20 if I'm honest. The smell and the staining and the general feel of the P20 puts me off.

I'm quite fair skinned and it works well for me.
