Current 9 year old HP laptop has just died leaving the kids with nowt for home schooling.

Found a HP Pavilion 14 for £350 at Curry’s which by all accounts should be ok so setting the budget around there. It’ll be used for homework/YouTube etc.

Is there anything else worth considering? Has to be new as the Mrs won’t buy used/refurbished with the lurgy going round.

Cheers.

I'd say ITzoo

They have clearance n refurb.

I dont see what covid 19 and a 2nd hand laptop will do to you.

The wife’s a little on the paranoid side with having a high risk resident in the house.

Apart from the bigger screen on the Dell, is there anything that stands out on the two below?

You leave the parcel for 72 hrs then the low risk resident unpacks it outside wiping everything down with an anti bacterial wipe.

Always been impressed with Lenovo myself.

I've just bought one like this, just with a slightly better processor (£400 @ John Lewis). Build quality feels much better than its price.

Even that's overkill. Leave it for 72 hours in the box then open it. If I was worried about Covid then I'd do the same to a new one in its box.

Having said that, there seems to be very little point arguing with a wife who has fixed ideas.

That’s where I’m at, she’s normally the most laid back person but for whatever reason she’s adamant it has to be new. Either way I need to order something today.

Thanks seadog I’ll have a look.
