I have quite an important meeting and can't decide whether to go for the sober dark tie and black socks or the more gregarious Jon Snow look.
Dark blue suit, white shirt and black shoes btw.
Can anyone help?
Depends - if you're under 30 you'll only ever wear odd socks anyway, so you have to choose twice.
Wear whatever you'll feel comfortable and confident in, your wearing a suit and shoes so unless your going for a job at an undertakers I wouldn't imagine coloured socks will make any difference (unless you whip your shoes off and ask the interviewer to sniff your feet!).
Considering the prevailing weather conditions, the warmest ones you can get into your shoes with. Sartorial elegance counts for bugger-all when your toes are turning black with frostbite!
