I'm going to get one to use in our work cars, but can't always guarantee that the car I'm in will have a socket to plug it into. From what I've read, TomTom are quite pants in the battery department - anyone got any recommendations please?

We have surveyors that use Garmin Zumos. One of them doesn't have a working car charger. Lasts a whole day easily.

My Garmin lasts about 22hours, left it one day not charging.

It depends on how much you make it do.....

I have a garmin. I can punch in 60-80 differnt addresses a day. It'll do this for about 8-10 hours non stop before it beeps for low battery.
Use it for a single or a couple of destination on holiday and it'll go a few days with no charge.

Non of the other guys can really use there tom toms with out having them plugged in for long i don't think. Theres usually aome moaning when they're in a vehicle with no 12v socket
