Hi, looking for some helps as i've googled myself in circles..
Just been told my little Fiat Punto 1.9 sporting has pretty much had it, (piston ring seals) time for a new un'. Had the car for 5 years and i've enjoyed the grunt of the diesel, I think a petrol engine is a simpler contraption so less to go wrong and cheaper to fix when it does.
any makes and models i should be checking, small hatchbacky things?
thanks
They seem to like petrol Ford focus's on here.
We have a Toyota Auris diesel at work as a bit of a runabout. It's only a little 1.5 or something. I know they have an image problem as it's generally as dull as ditch water but it feels superbly well put together compared to the Focus estate we have of a similar age (about 5 or 6 years old) and I know it spends a lot less time in the garage. I took it on a 270 mile return trip last week and it's a pretty good engine. Plenty of 1.6 petrol versions around too.
