Narrowed it down to 2, but really cant decide which to go for. Any budding David Baileys out there that can help tip the balance in the direction of one particular pocket snapper.

Sony HX20V or Lumix TZ30

Can get them both for more or less the same money by the way...

Cheers

How strange...

I have JUST bought a TZ30 today.

Was playing with it earlier, the zoom on it is great. Pics are very very good. I like all the features on it.

I'm looking at these two plus the Samsung WB850 and the Canon 260. Each has it's issues.

Im sticking to these 2 ive mentioned. Ive read that many reviews etc that its done my head in, so some feed back from an actual owner would be great.

If i may ask, how much di you pay for the TZ30?

I have recently bought the Sony, the panoramic feature is great but oh dear its slow when writing. Very slow if you take a burst sequence. i wish I had stuck with my original choice of a panosonic FT4 or FT5

Do you think the GPS is worth having? As the TZ27 is the same camera but without GPS (apparently is kills the battery) and slightly cheaper..

GPS is one of my "most essential" features as I'll be using the camera for doing path surveys. It can be switched off when you aren't needing it.

I've got the TZ30, and prior to that a TZ3. Great little camera, taken a lot of photos with it since I got it last year. It struggles with autofocus in low light/low contrast scenarios, but what compact doesn't.

I have a TZ7, so the TZ30 appeals, but battery life seems pretty poor (mind you - lots of them have the same problem)

Cheers, the top two of J Mascis were taken from the same place on the far side of the stage; the zoom is particularly good for gigs.

Could someone with a TZ30 please tell me what the longest exposure setting is? The TZ7 lets me use 30 and 60 seconds in night scenery mode.
