I've just bought a new PC which is connected to the TV (for watching iPlayer and stuff). I also want to use it for Skype and when the HDMI cable is delivered the sound will come through the TV.
What I need (and am having trouble finding) is a microphone to use with Skype too. I was hoping to find a wireless mic so I could leave it on the coffee table and Skype from the comfort of the sofa. But the only wireless microphones I can find are for business use and cost hundreds. I don't want to use a mic with a cable as the baby grabs the cable and the PC ends up on the floor.
The sofa is only about 3m from the PC - if I have a mic next to the PC will it pick up my voice ok, or will it feed back with the sound from the TV and sound awful?

Why can't you just use any old webcam, most have a mic built in.
