So yesterday in the carpark below our building some scroats chopped (not angle grinder) 3 d-locks and stole two bikes. the security/cameras are rubbish and no one spotted anything. thank baby jesus I was off work yesterday as they were taken from the same stand my bike is usually parked. Company looking in to bike cage for since forever. So which lock?

Cheapest one that looks the part, you just found out they won't actually stop anyone who brings the tools.

Do you need to carry it to/from work every day? If not then a pragmasis or almax chain and squire padlock to suit. Expensive but very very tough.

A D-lock is only tough if its made of decent material, some are so light they seem to made of cheese. I leave a 2kg top end Abus D-lock at work, which I'd be surprised if you can chop without hydraulic cutters.

Hint: bike thieves pay the same price for bolt cutters and cordless angle grinders that they do for bikes.

16+mm chain and closed shackle squire padlock.
Won't be stealable with bolt croppers.
Remove all stickers and decals and make sure it looks dirty .
Make sure it's properly insured.
