Just wondering if anyone has any tips/recommendations for insurance cover for an Alps trip this summer?
I'll be heading to Morzine for a few weeks, and don't have a clue what I'm looking for... But I usually end up injured so whatever would cover my medical costs/emergency service use if anything happens in the best way is what I'm looking for!

Make sure you have E111 and just get good travel insurance which covers the type of riding your doing. A lot of the cheaper insurance will say Mountain Biking, but they basically cover riding a bike, not lift assisted mountain riding. Me and My mates used Snowcard Insurance for our trip to the Whiterooms this year and my mate ended up crashing and needed heli evac from a remote trail with a dislocated shoulder. Snowcard were great and covered his costs without question, I have used them a few times now for biking and skiing, thankfully I've not needed to claim.

Snowcard paid up promptly when I needed medical assistance too. Now my preferred insurer due to their promptness.

+1 for snowcard. Use for the Alps & Whistler. One of our riders had a face plant. Snowcard picked up all the hospital bills without issue.

When I last went I used dogtag. No idea how good they are as I never needed to use them.

Snowcard, Dogtag, js insurance, tgic-online.com and Harrison Beaumont are the ones I've used in the past mainly for kayaking though but pretty sure they'll do MTB too. Never had to claim though.

If you're in the BMC or join the BMC then their travel insurance is very highly regarded.

I'm not in the BMC anymore, but will check out all of the suggestions! yearly one would be pretty handy as I'll be making a few visits!
Cheers!

Just wondering what sort of prices people got for their snowcard cover? Looks to be at least £60 for a week- just thought it would be a bit less than that, or is it the norm?

Whoever you decide to chose, ring them up first and ask in what country is their call centre for emergencies. We spent 5 days in the bone clinic in Moutiers last year when our son hurt his back and we were pleased that the call centre was in the UK, not in other countries. Patients with call centres in places like India were staying for much longer and were having a nightmare trying to get flown home.

It might not be relevant but when I was checking insurance for snowboarding I discovered that I was already covered by the breakdown insurance on my car - including for off-piste. The levels were similar to taking an additional insurance from someone else
