Which GU10 LED bulbs?

From past experience, I know that not all LEDs are equal. Bought some cheap ones a while back and they faded within a couple of years.

There are a group of 6 bulbs in my kitchen, 2 have failed and the others are quite faded. They are about 11 years old now.

I am going to swop out all 6 and want to get the best quality, longest lasting, I can as they are very awkward to get to in quite a high ceiling.

Any recommendations? Is it just a matter of buying the big brands, Osram, Philips etc?

I bought a whole house full when i moved in to replace the Halogens as they eat the leccy. I used theseGU10
The odd thing is i could not use them in the bathroom and had to go back to the halogens until i can get and electrician to have a look.

Phillips are my go to for any light bulb in terms of quality and longevity

We bought Integral GU10's for the kitchen about 10 years ago and the first just died after a decades heavy use, the rest are going strong so big thumbs up as far as I'm concerned.

You can get them from Toolstation.

I got some LAP ones from Screwfix about 8 years ago. Bought twice as many as I needed so I had matching colour/tone spares when they died.

I still have the spares 8 years later. This is in a dark kitchen so they get used a lot.

Sylvania or Phillips
(though there are different specs even within those manf ranges)

i have philips hue bulbs everywhere, which allow dimming and lighting different parts of the room. Pricy at a tenner each though

I've a few (40+) LAP leds from screwfix. Generally they're very good, but we have one circuit, which has 5 lamps in that I need to retain a single halogen lamp in, otherwise the whole lot glow dimly via inductance. I've been told that a "better" brand wouldn't do this.

Had a lot of success with megaman lamps ….. you may have to venture to an electrical wholesaler or web sites 😊. I stick with warm white and I am sure their range of gu10 led’s are all dimmable now with a suitable dimmer 👍

Osram Parathom ftw - bought some decades ago and still going strong.

It might also be worth considering getting some switching that doesn't whack the full power into the lamp straightaway (dimmers do this), even spreading this over tens of milliseconds can make a difference as it's gentler on the lamp. Useful even if you're not going to use the lights dimmed.

Btw, all electrical 'bulbs' are actually lamps. [a pedant, me]. Bulbs grow, lamps glow
