Something out the back of our garages absolutely honks as the ground level foliage is dying back. It stinks of cheesy poo.

Any ideas what it might be?

Comfrey is a bit whiffy as it breaks down, I'm not sure I'd call it cheesy poo though. You sure the local cats haven't been at the Philadelphia?

Mares tail is minging when breaking down, at least I think that's what it is.

Does mares tail die back? Let's hope it's not that because that will keep you very busy. However when I was at war with it I don't remember any particularly strong smells.

There's a weed with chunky roots and spikes of red flowers that absolutely reeks when is rots. I think it's called Valerian, but not sure.

I think I also have this. Stinks a bit like fox poo, really strong since applying weed killer. There were a number of pinky red long stemmed flowers with thick roots.

Yes @bensongd this kicked in massively after weedkiller application. Maybe valerian then!

Laurel hedges can stink like mange. Dog daisies smell like poo.

Poo also smells like poo. There may be some there

While we're on the subject, what is it with the jizz-trees?

I'm glad I understood the context there...

You have a Viburnum which is infected by a moth. Also smells like cheesy feet.

Mares Tail?
Ammonium Sulphamate, not sulphate.
Kills it dead. Not strictly legal though.

Interesting - what tells you it's infected by a moth? (Out of curiosity).

Is it a problem? I keep trying to kill the stuff!
