As title, £100 budget, which phone will:

* take acceptable photos (my biggest complaint of my old ulefone was it took abysmal photos, a billion megapixles of green tinted mush).
* long battery life
* best use my personal data for the advancement of the Chinese Communist Party

Not keen on 2nd hand phones, I've had a few and they all started struggling to last a day as the battery died around 3 years, my current S7 is 4 years old and won't last a day unless I have it plugged in at every oppertunity which is useless if I cycle to work, use it during the day, then can't strava the ride home.

Hmm, pretty much gone, but the G8 Power is on sale in places for £120. I've had the G7 Power for a year, very happy.

Its fairly easy to get a new battery fitted aftermarket to most phones.

Have a look at hukd and see what floats your boat for the money. Moto g8 is about 140 (though I think these have a glass back which would kill it for me), Poco x3 about 160, one plus Nord about 200. there were various Xiaomi deals knocking about from 100-200. Probably best just keeping an eye out now as black Friday approaches.

Should probably jump in and say that despite all the recomendations Motorola are a none starter, I can't live with their version of Android (unless its changed drasrically in the last few years).

I've got a Samsung Galaxy A20e, cost about £120 IIRC (Not a tech man so wasnt spending silly money, phones a phone to me) Only had it 6 months or so but its been spot on, takes decent pics and has good battery life. Seems the same to use as the old hand me down S8 I was using before

A near new Sony compact phone was the most unreliable heap of *** I've owned. Best budget Chinese?? Cubot note 7 - £48 direct or £60 in UK. I'm only using it as a music & camera device right now, but seems pretty good (& cheap...). I have their Kingkong mini for normal use - but that has a small battery.

+1 for G7 Power - well pleased with mine - can run a nav app (OS / Kamoot) on it all day long without gasping for power towards the end of the ride

^mine cost me about £175 last year, that's a great price. Good phone, good camera, but too big to fit comfortably in a trouser pocket.

Really rate my Xiaomi mi a2 is the camera on the redmi 8t noticeably better? Would it compare with a top end Samsung?

Motorola Android is almost as clean as the pixel stock version, I.e. no extra shite. Surprised you can't live with that!

That's why, along with the battery, I got a Moto G7 Power - no Facebook, ****ter, etc preloaded.

I did this. Photos are great, battery is OK, it's pathetic in cold weather, though. A less-than-warm breeze and under 30% battery and it just shuts down, which is annoying as we approach winter in Scotland.

Not sure how it would compare etc and no idea against a samsung sorry , although im very happy with the pics etc ... GSM arena has the compare function , so the camera does indeed look better spec wise on the main camera but not the selfie cam 🙂 https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9140&idPhone2=9946
