I'm after a back up phone to serve a variety of purposes.  It only needs to make and receive calls, be tough and have a battery that lasts for ages on standby.   Waterproof or splash proof would be a significant bonus

Thinking old skool nokia type phone.  Budget around £30 on payg.

What works for you?

This review reckons the Nokia 105 is splash roof, lasts for 35 days on standby and costs £13:

Think it's been discontinued but Ive got a nokia 515 I use on a building site, it has been pretty awesome tbh. You still see them for sale though. Battery lasts for ever, picks up my email etc so ticks a lot of boxes. Nice small size too

The nokia 316 looks like a later version of it, at 30 notes it looks a bargain to me.

After killing a Nokia something or other I got a Sonim XP3340. IP68 rated, "shockproof", battery lasts a good week with regular use and it has a very loud and clear speaker phone. I think all of them are SIM free. I paid £25ish for one used-but-like-new on ebay last year.
