Looking to plant a couple of apple tree's to train along a fence in Espalier.

So far a tree grower has recomended Rosemary Russet and Ashmead's Kernel.

If you have any recomendations of particular types of apple that you have grown it would be greatly recomended.

Also after a plum tree so any recomendations their as well.

We have a Cox and a James Grieve, had a conference pear but now gone to make way for decking. Victoria plum is fine. We bought all of ours pre-trained onto canes except for the James Grieve which we did ourselves. If I only had one of the lot I'd take the James Grieve. Lovely and juicy tart flavour for eating and works well for cooking too, very good cropper for the size too.

Depends very much on where you are, climate, altitude, soils, drainage etc.
