I have been sitting on a bunch of 10-20 year old videos of the kids, on various old devices - mostly DV 8MM and Minidisc video (I know...). Looking for a service where I can drop all these tapes/etc off, and be handed back drive full of nice high-quality transferred videos.

Bonus points if physically close to Glasgow/Edinburgh.

Any ideas?

Depends how many videos you are talking about and what formats... It could be very expensive to pay someone to do it.

A better option might be to buy some old equipment off ebay etc. and do the transfers yourself, but it will take a long tme and be a pain in the butt, hence why paying someone to do it will be expensive.
