We have a 4x4 car, two bikes, a canoe, camping gear and a dog with a passport, for four weeks in July and August. We have been to northern Spain (Picos de Europa), Eastern and southern France, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Corsica, now we want to try somewhere new. Posssibly the Dordogne, limousin or the Pyrenees, we want rivers and hills, mountains and wilderness with somewhere to camp or stay. Any thoughts would be welcome.

I also  really want some nice smooth flowy singletrack, fun stuff, not too technical, or massive mountains to climb. the Picos de Europa was straight up and straight back down again! Phew!

Bang in the middle of the Alps, around Bourg st Maurice. I’ve seen lots of canoeing on the Isere, More Alps resorts than you ever want ( free lift passes in Tignes!) and Italy is just up the Col de st Petit Bernard.
