Daughters laptop which she's decided to start using again has a copy of word on it. However it's saying she cant use it anymore. Is there anywhere I can download some sort of copy?
If only there was some kind of internet search engine you could type "buy word" into
The bird?
But where would I look for an internet search engine?
Didn't Cameo sing about it?
God?
Serious answer, scrap it and use open office instead
Channel 4?
Whatever happen to Mark Lamarr!?
Thanks for the help! Loads of versions/downloads available but all with associated virus etc I presume?
Really depends on why it's not working. If it's a corrupt install then it should be possible to re-install using the original key.
Definitely do NOT download it from anywhere other than Microsoft
Can we start a stolen bike sharing thread too?
Free for school children and teachers, but not all schools have signed up...School version link
Is she still school age? Often the school will have a deal with Microsoft to provide 365 for free or close to free.
Failing that she could possibly get a student 365 account, again this is cheaper than normal, it’s desigend for under grads really but they don’t care really.
365 is the way to go, it’s cheaper than stand alone* and you get free** updates.
Or use the online version that is within any hotmail account?
Any students in the house? You can get an Office account for free.
Ah that’s what I get for opening the thread then popping out.

LibreOffice is a better option than OpenOffice. It has much more active development, so has had a variety of improvements over OpenOffice.
Or try Google Docs.

yes, I couldn't remember the name of the other one
these open source alternatives are largely indistinguishable from Word in practice.
and you don't get a know-it-all paperclip trying to boss you around either
Why does an au pair need word?

I'm assuming by that comment you don't want to buy a genuine copy?

Hi there. 1998 just called - they'd like their complaint back please.
"Hi. It looks like you're trying to write a letter. Would you like me to:
a) **** it up completely for you
b) **** off and leave you alone"
Ah, those were the days. Now it's just a pain when you want to do some kind of list:
1. Word plz make me a list
2. No wait what are you d
_2. 2. wtf is this
_ c. no this isn't what
