I've been playing ping pong with Manchester City Council since Sept for a ticket I received parking near Manchester City's training complex when taking my daughter to training there.
I parked on a street that had no signage on it and no lines on the road. Although I now accept it is a controlled zone but this isn't obvious.
I thought they'd accept the signage isn't correct and cancel the ticket but they're digging their heals in.
I parked on Colliery St on the patch of grass near Wilson St. Google street view show's signage on the lamposts to say it is a restricted parking zone. The photo evidence of my car shows that these signs are no longer there (presumably removed by the lovely locals) and all signage along the road has been removed.
The nearest sign I could find from where I parked my car (on the route I took in) was over 0.2mile away.
The photographic evidence of my car was taken at 19.30...they've also attached a photo of a controlled zone sign but this was taken at 21.55 (nearly 2.5hrs later) and so I've asked where this sign is located as it wasn't near my car.
The replied saying both entrances to Colliery St are signed as controlled zones (from Wilson St and Parkhouse St) but I've supplied evidence to show that they're not.
Annoyingly I can only make a formal representation after the reduced payment period has ended.
Is there somewhere I can get advice from? I'm loathe to pay it as there is no signage. I seem to recall there was a new pepipoo equivalent but can't remember what it's called. Thanks

Did you not see the sign stating that "patch of grass" was actually Goole Street Green?
The Eastlands parking scheme covers a pretty big area and is well documented if you google Etihad Campus parking.
I'd pay while you can get the reduced fine.
was there definitely not signage stating you're entering the controlled zone where you entered? there doesn't need to be signs on every street afaik

I don't tend to research every street I think I may park on before I set off, so arrived, looked at the st and saw there was no signage and so parked. The club had told us to park on Wilson St, so as there was a free space with no signage literally 10metres from it I parked up.
I'd pay it then fight it. If you leave it it goes up and you'll probably end up having to pay in the meantime anyway, and should you lose any decision, you'll be paying a lot less.
At least with it out thee way you can concentrate on the fight and without the extra penalties

Google street view images are from September '23 and the Eastlands parking scheme came into force earlier this year so all the existing signs would have been removed. Maybe your club was using old information which allowed parking on non-event days.
If you had parked on the road [and not on the green] it seems you could have stayed there for 90 minutes under the new scheme - so presumably you parked for longer than that.

If I'm going somewhere I don't really know I always do a quick Google for parking otherwise I might inadvertently get a parking ticket.
The scheme covers a pretty large area... it's not just a few streets! They've knocked you back already, I doubt they're going to change their minds.

No signs on Colliery St where I parked.
I'll just pay up then, but its leaving a sour taste due to lack of signage.
