Where to Find Organised Rdies?

A few years ago Evans Cycles used to do an organised series of rides, both road and off-road. They don't do these anymore. Is there any one website people use to find organised rides? I've found https://www.trailbreak.co.uk/ which has a few rides.

Similarly anyone know of any rides that are clubish around the Surrey Hills? Looked at Muddy Moles https://muddymoles.org.uk/ but that seems to have petered off.

Facebook groups seems to be the defacto place to look now unless Google throws up a local based club/forum that's still going.

Re https://www.trailbreak.co.uk/
They are more like sportives than club runs but they are / were ok. Towards the end of using them I found them a bit overpriced for trails I kinda knew. Whenever we did them we ended up riding with people we already knew so maybe not great for getting to know people / other trails in the area

Have you looked at any cycling clubs near you? Mine does a reasonable amount of off road despite being a road club.

Any local bike clubs near you? they probably do organised rides (well club runs)...

Are you looking to follow a route and let someone else guide you or are you just looking for suggested routes so you can go ride them yourself?

British Cycling website might have something that might be suitable - or give you a list of clubs near you that may have something to offer...Cycling UK may do something similar.

Well that three of us. You, me and my son.

I have been riding Surrey Hills on and off (back on for the past three or four years) for 20 years. We ( a group of ex-rowers who quit and went back to mtb's) were riding about almost 20 years ago and we picked up three or four others asking 'are you a club?'.

I was thinking exactly the same as you recently. Everyone else I know has stopped riding mtb's so I need some new friends who ride

I’ve just started using the Link My Ride app which looks to solve this problem. Tom Pidcock is the celebrity face of the app but as it’s new, adoption is still low at the moment. Link

If you are over 50 and can ride mid-week during the day, Bike50.org organizes 3 to 4 rides per week all over Surrey. They are of varying levels of difficulty and technical challenges. Very sociable and a noticeable lack of egos. We usually meet at or near a pub. There was a feature on here a couple of years ago, but I can't remember Issue No.
