Any recommendations? Family lunch, taking firstborn out for a birthday treat lunch instead of university halls grub. Standard pub grub would do great, but since I've not lived there since I left Trent Poly, I wouldn't have a clue.

Sir John Borlase, Canning Circus - up the hill, on the triangle between Derby Road/ Alfreton Road. There is parking on the triangle there, it isnt obvious, we went round twice before we saw the entrance.

The Larder on Goosegate is good, but might well be booked up.

Larwood at trent bridge. Will probably be fully booked but worth trying anyway

Edit; four bells in Woodborough is phenomenal. Best pub in Notts 2015

Cozz - couldn't imagine that from the friendly brummie guy Craig nor his Mrs that run it at the moment. Maybe changed owners since you were last there?

Cheers all, Beeston one sounds handy as we can wander over from the halls, but we'll see what she fancies when we get there.
