I've decided to re-turf the lawn (after digging up the current mess and putting in a bit of drainage). I know seed would be better, but it's going to be hard enough keeping the dog off it while turf establishes itself so don't want to have to wait longer for seeds, plus I want the 'quick fix' and immediate lawn effect! So where's the best, but not most expensive place to buy turf from? Thanks.

A local supplier.

Not a big warehouse full of DIY stuff.

I know a great supplier near Lewes in East Sussex but the likelihood of you being local is very remote!
