Where to buy decent girls sport clothes

Any suggestions on where to buy decent kids sport clothes for girls, particularly ones which aren't made of velour and would fit in better on the high street than at gymnastics or running.

My girls are 8 and 5 and the eldest is getting more into gymnastics, running and generally being more active and I want to encourage her, but the offerings seem to be very 'fashion' focused. The youngest will just want to copy her big sister.

Any suggestions?

My go to for that kind of thing is Decathlon. Decent quality and reasonable choice.

Other option sadly is Sportsdirect though as I have boys can't comment on how the girls clothes compare.

Decathlon.

Or, if you can face it, Sports Direct does actually have some decent sports-specific stuff in amongst the mass-produced fashion crap they focus on.

Edit: JINX!

I can't believe just how similar our posts are 🙂 (father to two 14 yr olds here)

I shall ask my daughters when I get in tonight. I might get blank looks. (But that's teenaged girls...)  😀

Try TK Maxx in January when it becomes the 'new year new me' shop for the month. It's where I get all my generic sporty gear and my local has a massive kids section.

Start fitness used to be good for ladies/girls clothing. Not sure now as not looked in a while.

Some of the XS and S-sized running stuff that Wiggle are currently knocking out mega-cheap might be useful?

Gym shark has been popular with my daughter and seems well made. Or Nike or decathlon.

Most of the big names have online shopping direct with them and have an outlet section. I get most of my running shoes from Nike outlet on their website.

My daughter is a gymnast, been living in leggings from Sports Direct or Primark for most of the last 17 years. (Though now has a couple of pairs of lovely British Gymnastics ones by Kukri)

Judging by the number of parcels that come in, Gym Shark popular with my 12 and 15yr old daughters as well. They seem to look quite sensible, thankful lack of pick velour with 'juicy' across the arse and the like.

Shame, as then they'd be matching me...

Thanks all, didn't think of Wiggle. Will have look in-store at sports direct and hunt through the mountains of crap.

Gym shark is another good shout.

@big_scot_nanny that's the exact look I'm trying to avoid. Pink velvet 'trackies' with juicy on the arse!

M&MDirect has had a few bits cheap for us over the years as well as the above. Enough to make the £10/year postage worthwhile.

13 year old niece lives in:
Gym Shark
Nike
Decathlon
The first 2 are just clothes that get worn, the latter is mostly used to actually do sport.
