I am planning a biking trip to Norway in July 2026 and need to book a flight from London to Evenes on 25th July and return from Svolvaer on 3rd August. I am struggling to find a return flight that will take a bike. Outbound seems ok but the return I am struggling with. Any suggestions - use travel agent? The holiday company only sort the trip from arrival to leave day, we have to sort our own flights
Any advice would be very welcome
Thanks
Ask the holiday company, they might not book the flights but they should know how customers have got there previously and will continue to want their customers to get to there, you’d think 🤔
Edit: and back!
Wideroe/SAS both take bikes, and seems to be a flight going that day (overnight in Oslo then got to uk next day)?

Thanks.
Flying out to EVENES isn't the problem its flying back on 3rd August from Svolvaer that is currently the issue - smaller airport meaning smaller aircraft and less luggage capacity?
I use google flights to work out possible routes and carriers. From Svolvaer, there are only Wideroe flights. As jamie has linked to, they state they take bikes. Have you tried to book with them and had a problem / error message at booking? Yes they will be small aircraft, possibly a prop, Bombardier Dash-8, but that still has hold space. If there are lots of people doing the same thing then space could be a pain. Good idea to call the holiday company and ask what logistics people usually book.
Drive from Svolvær to Evenes or get the bus.
Konagirl, that's my issue. I know Wideroe say they take bikes but all the flights I have tried to book don't allow me to book extra luggage or sports equipment. I have asked the holiday company if they can arrange a transfer from Svolvaer back to Evenes. This is a new itinerary from the holiday company which they say makes things easier by reducing the transfer time at the end of the trip. Definitely easier if you hire a bike but not if you want to take your own. I am going to see if I can take a bike by returning a day later. Maybe Mondays are historically busy so no room for bikes? I am going to see if I can speak to the airline next week
Thanks everyone, my mistake. I have spoken to the airline and as long as the bike is packed correctly I can take it. You have to book and pay for the flight then go back into your booking details and add the bike or you can email the airline and they will add it
