You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
In the spirit of the https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/wheres-this-cairn/ thread, can anyone tell me where this is?

Edit: a mate sent me the pic. I'm assuming it's in southern England somewhere but really have no idea.
Looks like a field to me. Also a hill.
Is it in The Land of Do-as-you-Please?
It's behind the fence
I bet your mate knows or are you trying to find out where he took somone’s Mrs this weekend? Are you a PI?
Pah. Unimpressed by the usually infallible STW font of knowledge. I should have offered a prize.
The Bowthorpe Oak in Lincolnshire
Ah wait for too hilly for Licolnshire.
The only clue I have, if it even is a clue, is he took some kids on a school trip over to the UK (London/Kent) a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, there's no exif data on the pic, so not sure it's from then.
Somewhere near here

Yes, i know, it must be field.
Is it the Royal Oak Shropshire / Staffordshire border? Looks a bit too hilly though
Aw c'mon folks - it's just on the edge of the woods behind Nationwide in Swindon
Is it the Singing Ringing Tree?
I thought that too, Stoner, but the surroundings don't seem to match. I'm stumped 😉
Braeriach summit IMO.
Is it the Brimmon Oak?
Did no one be get to the root of this?
Nope, it’s a mystree...
Think the Singletrackworld massive is stumped.

Hobbiton
We had better leave this to an arborist.
Ooh, I could make a nice spice rack out of that. Is it getting chopped down?
You wooden believe the sap(s) on here can't find a tree.
Old STW would have got this
Unfortunately since the cull of 2018 mumsnet maybe a better resource
I’m stumping up for a field in Derbyshire, somewhere near Ashbourne... Without my glasses on it looks like an Oak.. sooooooo... the Royal Oak Pub is where the photog was taken from.
I thought it might be the tree on this programme I watched awhile back but not so sure now.

Can't you trace the image through Google and it may tell you what you need to know.I tried to and it came back with a match to 🙂

Bowthorpe Oak (Lincolnshire)
I think...
I don't know where it is but it's definitely not Bowthorpe.
Old STW would have got this
That's why I posted it, but alas, and it's no fault of the hive, I was a bit hasty in my assumption of an English oak. Its actually in Navarra ; my mate sent me it as it looks like it *should* be in the UK. Soz 😳
So on that anticlimactic note, feel free to post your mystery trees here...
Is this a stealth advert by the Navarra tourist board?
Could well be. They certainly need to raise awareness of the tree as I've ridden past it half a dozen times and had no idea it was there.
This thread is turning into comedy gold.
Somebody was Nissan the point.
Has anyone blamed Brexit yet?
This thread is turning into comedy gold.
I thought it was a bit acorny.
Plane stupidity on my part but I'm sure I'll cedar funny side
Barking.
Imagine being a prisoner where the fence is made from the mummified remains of your murdered relatives...
*shiver*
We've made it to a second page. Who'd have thought it would be this poplar?
Genuine LOL, JHJ.
Now, if this thread could quietly fall off the bottom of the page (yes I know that takes a week these days)
This lot should know - http://www.ancienttreeforum.co.uk/
Though despite the word forum, it's not a forum in the Internet sense.

That's because trees can't type. Their internet browsing is all done with the mouse.
Sorry I couldn't make acorny pun
Any EXIF data in the original image? If it was taken on a phone (or GPS enabled camera) you could have coordinates (or ask your friend).
- EDIT -
No location EXIF in the online image sadly.
Tree fellers needed.
Haven’t you twigged?! The question was answered by the OP on page 1 !
Ah, I should have leafed through the whole thread first!
That appears to be the root of the problem.
I can't see the wood for the trees!
Now pardon me if I'm being a touch brash, but the forum has been a bit rotten since they spruced it up.
#LongLiveChainsaw
It looks quite plane that nobody really knows where it is,lets hope somebody gets it it wont be me
