In the run up to Christmas, satsumas were in abundance.

At home we could do 4kg in a couple of days.

Post-New Year, they're nowhere to be found, and we're having to cope with crappy tangerines and clementines *spits*.

Where have all the satsumas gone? Staving off the worst of the withdrawal symptoms but we can only last so long...

End of the season for them? Ramped up for Christmas then others take over

"Thru Feb" though. Where are they? I demand to know.

In other news, loving the idea of a bacon avocado...

Basically you aim to have the bulk out mid season and then the rest will be going to less places - supermarkets tend to want to stock what they can get lots of. So drop them and go for the next one

Aldi, Lidl and Sainsbury's still have them.

Maybe it's a South Western thing. Maybe we've exhausted our allocation, whereas more northerly climes still have theirs left.

Can't you just get by with apples?

All small orange citrus fruits seem to be called “easy peelers” these days by Sainsburys and Tesco.

Satsumas are the king of all small orange-related fruit and I will fight anyone who says different.

I should put my hand up here, I think I ate them all. I got through multiple boxes between christmas and NY on my own and a few more since. The LIDL ones were delicious and cheap.
