[*]Seems really hard to find more than one variety (often none) of full fat yogurts in supermarkets these days... Cant tolerate those slimy watery things they call low fat. Is one little snack pot such a big deal that the industry decides to make them all low fat to encourage chip eating fatties to hunt them down to balance their morbidly obese diets?
Any suggestions where to shop for real food?
do miss the semi solidified bit from round the edge.
some lightweight ones are runnier than others.
My missus makes it herself, piece of piss apparently
SKI-ing?
I feel cheated if they are not full fat stuff so I have never bought anything low fat.
Since I don't consume them everyday so I can afford full fat stuff like proper fish and chips.
Yummy! Nom! Nom! Nom! 😛
Happy Shopper - I kid you not. Well nice. Probably made from pigs wotsits but mmmmm tasty.
Ask the Mums. They appear to take it even more seriously - http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/a2043214-to-want-to-buy-normal-fruit-yoghurt-that-isnt-reduced-fat-or-with-random-bacteria-in-it
'AIBU?'
Try this for no-nonsense. I presume they can't be bothered with the faff of removing fat. They make it up the top of the hill
Ha ha I had this exact same conversation with the Mrs in the supermarket on the way home tonight as I wanted some Greek yogurt, but it was all this 0% fat garbage where the fat's substituted with bloody sugar to give it flavour.
If you're in Scotland search out Rowan Glen yoghurts - made near Newton Stewart / Kirroughtree. Tesco in Castle Douglas sold them so guess other stores might.
Even better is Skyr, the yoghurt-ish stuff they make in Iceland (the country not the supermarket). Not a clue where to buy that in the UK.

Exactly. Which is worse than the fat in the first place.
Waitrose do a decent own brand full weight Greek yoghurt. Yeo Valley good too.

I'm not sure thats the orthodox recipe
I buy Tesco Full Fat Greek-style. I've never had a problem finding it on sale.

Ya, bought a couple of those at Fenwick few weeks ago ... ok-ish but the blueberry one is so sour I thought it was the devil's piss.

Had a lot of that in the past i.e. Skyr ... nope, you can't get it in UK.
Edit: The M&S Full Fat Greek Yogurt is very good and very thick.
My missus makes it herself too. Couple of litres of full fat in the pan, spoonful of natural yoghurt from the last batch, warm on stove, stir, leave to stand in a water bath in warm place overnight. Job done.
Well something like that anyway. Tastes good.
Rachel's!!!!! From Saintsbury's or ASDA. Full fat, various flavours. The lemon one is awesome. Missus is a bit particular about what the wee man gets and this is one of the best out there, natural, no sugar etc. 2 for £3. Get the one with ginger for your breakfast smoothie!
Asda/Tesco own brand full fat Greek yoghurt. Lovely thick stuff.
I never eat the sugary low fat junk muller/ski/etc types.
Own brand greek yog? good lord.
Fage Total only thanks. Greece's no.1 yog dont you know, and available in a range of fat-nesses.
+1 Rachels
HANG ON- Longley Farm have a new flavour? Where do you get that one from? My alltime comfort foods are carnation milk, Longley farm and ..Dixons.
Yeo Valley full-fat the bestest, but I agree that it's easier to find 0% slime than full-fat.
Yeo make many supermarket brands, too.
I can't stand yoghurt but I do know that Longley farm are held in great esteem here in West Yorks.
Blueberry? Sour? Grow a pair man!!
Luckily our local corner shop is owned by Greeks = proper yoghurt always in stock.
The Fage stuff is, indeed, very good. Just not so available.

I'd love to get hold of some of this in the UK- , the closest I've found is the Danio range of yogurt, still no comparison to the real thing ( which was more like a cheese than yogurt )
Yep. Yeo Valley. Sainsbury's.
Every single supermarket does their own brand "best" range. Really not that hard to find is it now?
Tesco Finest
Asda Not Quite Crap
Sainsburys Made By the Same People as Tescos in a Different Pot
Marks & Spencer Same Stuff as the Others But Twice the Price
etc
Aldi also do a full fat one, using DezB's scale I would say Aldi, better than the other supermarkets stuff but you do you really want to be seen in Aldi?
+1 for the Yeo Valley above. Amazing stuff. That and Tabasco sauce are pretty much the only 2 branded grocery things that I buy, Aldi/Lidl all the way for everything else.

Indeed this! I've been known to make a special trip to Aldi (its in the next town) just for their yogurts. Obviously I also end up with lamp shades, cycling gear, Airfix models and a bathroom mat in me trolly.
Another fan of Rachel's, Yeo Valley, high end supermarkets own but especially Aldi.
As part of the healthy eating an MrsMC instituted for January we have only had Shape yoghurt in the fridge. I'm putting money on there being a causal link between consumption of that sugary junk and my having wasted most of January in a slough of first world angst and despair. Even MrsMC is fed up with them
