Guardian
Financial Times (turns out I get it free with work and if you have teenage kids you may well have access too)
A bit of Huffington Post when I remember.
But BBC is the go to too.

Basically on here. If something major happens I’ll then visit the Guardian because I’m a commie.

I like the Grauniad. Not politically but their more in depth reporting is betterer than some of the alternatives. I also read a lot of BBC but despair at the Women's Weekly/Daily Mailesque with a twist of American style reporting. 😕

I recommend it on another thread, but I think tortoise media is really very good for in-depth articles on things.

I look at the independent mainly, but they are a bit 'bat shit' sometimes.
The BBC are too scared to report on brexit properly, as the government hold thier purse strings. so they are very slow and carefull and often a bit behind the times. (no pun intended)

I suppose you have to look at a range of sources these days, like my old history teacher kept drilling into me.

For world news, BBC is good-ish, but they don't report on half the stuff aljezera report on that you'd never hear of otherwise. The BBC seems to be vwry much UK and America.

BBC, The Guardian and here are the main sources but I supplement it with other sources depending upon the type of news. I'll also make a point of searching for alternative views on contentious topics so as to challenge my viewpoint. That can lead to son=me very strange places!

if I want an extreme right wing view for a laugh, I'll look at the express.. but be under no illusions, it's a vertiible cauldron of hate soup.

BBC, Guardian. And CNN to keep up with the shitshow that is the United States.

Edit to add: The Atlantic and The Conversation for in-depth.

Yep, used to look at the Independent but since they stopped their printed edition their website has gone downhill really fast.

Also used to use the BBC, but since Brexit I've not bothered and have cancelled our TV license as well.

@mattyfez agree .....

The BBC seems to be vwry much UK and America

BBC is incredibly US biased, the ratio of US to European (closest neighbours, biggest trade links, holiday destination, etc. ) stories is simply one sided. The usual British problem of not enough staff (reporters) with foreign language skills ?

But I still look at the BBC and Grauniad to get a sensible view.

Online I have BBC and Guardian tabs open on the browser all day to keep up to date. On TV the German news is on every evening which gives a completely different perspective on many stories.

I tried the Guardian but just too left for me and to many words. Every article feels like a short story. Can't do the sun or daily mail because they feel like toys.

I want something concise and as factual as I can get.

Jesus christ there’s a david icke forum!!!

But of course there is man, he is a very important persona don't ya know.
He has some excellent package holiday trips for 2021.
UK Bus tour with the anti-maskers.
This travels all over the UK ripping down Covid infested 5G masts, it then heads to Plymouth where you can join a world cruise with the flat earthers. Final stop is Australia to get a trip on Space Bob's high altitude jet, where you will witness the mighty oceans disappearing over the edge to the 'UNDERSIDE of the planet. Then it's back to terra firmish to have a slap up meal with some of our highest ranking lizard overlords

Flipboard, been using it for years. I get news literally from all over the world, from a bunch of different perspectives, everything I post on threads like the dTrump one come via Flipboard, and I’ve been getting a lot of science and technology news as well.
The Guardian, U.K., Australia, Washington Times, New York Times...
I get a very much wider view than from just the Beeb website.

Financial Times (turns out I get it free with work and if you have teenage kids you may well have access too)

How is that? I might as well get something useful back from my grumpy 15yr old daughter. Has a look at the site and student sub is still paid.

Beeb, then on here to read the analysis of said news.

There is literally a separate thread on here for all the really important news right now.👍

The Guardian. It's pretty central and good reporting. Some opinion pieces can be a little left leaning but on the whole it has far less bias than the others.

Mostly Guardian, less so on the BBC now that they are too scared to upset the government.

The Guardian still has some good writers, though it has gone seriously downhill since Viner became editor.
I like the Times for some stuff, but my sub has just run out.
BBC of course
Mail for some stories, just because it's free
Apple News - though increasingly when I tap on a story it asks me to pay, so I'm using it less.

I just skim through the headlines on Google News mostly and read anything that catches my eye :p
This means anything without a paywall, so usually ends up being BBC, Sky or the Guardian.
Anything from the likes of the Mail, Express, Sun etc is ignored or treated as made up garbage.

Don't keep up on the news in great detail tbh.

BBC just seems to be like watching/reading Newsround these days.

Grauniad, New Scientist and Private Eye for dead tree journalism.

Guardian every day, each time bemoaning just how far journalism has fallen. Like this morning's story that Max Mosley had lied "on oath".

Economist for paid high-quality journalism, but even there the quality of subediting has gone alarmingly downhill in the past year.
