My photos keep disappearing - I'm hosting them on IMGBB.com and using the BBcode full linked option and have been doing for years - see the SpringClean thread.
They are initially posted/hosted/displayed but if you leave the STW page and come back they then aren't visible. The links are still there if edited with the 15mins but no image.
Any reason?

I don't know the answer to that. However, did you know that as a full member you can now upload directly, so don't need to use an image hosting site anymore.
It's gone again! There was an image in the first post.

I know about the direct image thingy but I've been using IMGBB for years without issue.

Dead easy to post directly nowadays.

Scratch that. I can't see how to from my phone. I only seem to have the option for direct upload. Nowhere to past the URL of the hosted image
Something funny has being going on recently with both linked images and video - seems to vary by browser in some instances. I’ve experienced YouTube videos playing sound but no video - imgbb hosted images displaying the moment you post them then disappearing when you revisit the page

You have to switch off ‘fancy editor’ in prefs then click ‘text’ in the top right corner of the text box to get the img tags for linked images

I expect everyone has been deleting the 3Gb that STW uses on our devices and so all the photos have now disappeared !!!!
Spotted same issue on a post from earlier in year one (of many) images all sitting on postimages is no longer showing - but others are still showing in same post.
I've kept avoiding the built in option to upload photos. I use another big forum which is picture heavy (people use it to show progress on projects) and when their server died last year, the ability to look back on your thread's pictures had gone as all the pictures went with the server. If, for example, there's a thread about a specific repair, or a tour or adventure that someone might want to go on (like the one about Korea on the go just now), or my annual mountain threads, I'd like to be able to look back on the pictures a few years down the line.
Given its history of being a terribly functioning site, I don't trust STW to be able to show me these pictures in a year's time.
As for the original problem, Flickr seems to be the safest option - it's been around forever, works with BBCode and seems most likely to exist in the future.
So what's the conclusion? Photo hosting that works for the rest of the digital world doesn't work on STW?
