Cup of anything containing caffeine first thing in the morning and please don't stop me getting to the loo for my once a day 'outage'.

Colleagues at work also have that first coffee and away they go.

However others maintain they get the signs but due to work sometimes they have to wait until later.

Couple of mates carry loo paper, etc in their camelbaks....just in case...

Is there a norm or are we all just different?

This is me too. A big meal and 10 mins later its time to go. But when its time to go I need to find a lavvy within 5 mins.

Some people I know can hold on for hours.

I don't have this problem but my wife does. She suddenly has to drop everything and head to the toilet amid much anxiety. Only for a pee though.

It's due to her being absorbed in some other task. That thing about women multitasking does NOT apply to my wife.

I do it in a bag and hang it from a tree, kept seeing them about so assumed that's what everyone else was doing too...

I find once I've got up in the morning, I have 15 mintues before I MUST go, once that happens do not get in my way, do not have decided to have an early morning bath... I have no choice in the matter, secondary poos are very rare for me. It takes a MASSIVE meal to disrupt the pattern. Or the Trotts.

For No 1s, not an issue, can hold 4 pints of beer, can wait for hours. Its quite funny I make other people feel like a pregnant woman.

Im on the China Chair within 15 minutes- guaranteed! 😀

EDIT: Quite often in the mornings (when i am late to work) i have to stop and squeeze one out in the woods. Sometimes you just have to get up and go 😆

Same here, morning cup of tea and I'm off to read Private Eye in peace. Get to work, make a coffee and ten minutes later I'm back for round two and reading emails on the BB.

Houns, have you been told by your GP about the new treatment for IBS? Basically it consists of replacing the natural bacteria and other flora in your gut that have been wiped out by drug treatments. Worth reading up on this?

I'm a mixture.
I can spend most of the day sometimes holding it in (with a little extra gas around the edges)

Other times, NOW!

They feel different though.

I once had to go on the compost heap as the only throne was occupied and it needed to be released NOW! Thank god it was behind the shed otherwise the neighbours would have been outraged.

Post op Ulcerative Colitis and frequency is more the issue than urgency. As Junkyard said 'once a day absolute beginners'.
