I thought there was a 20 minute window straight after exercise when you got the maximum benefit from your food. No idea where I got that from, but I try to stick to it.
I believe there is the golden 30 minutes straight after exercise when your body will refuel tired muscles quicker, but for overall daily calorific intake it doesn't matter when you take those calories in.
I usually have something within 30 mins of a ride for recovery purposes. Outside that, when I want to eat.
