The local yoof seem to have discovered mountain bikes and more obviously wheelies. Dressed all in black with padded jackets hoods up with strings pulled tight there are loads around which is good to see. The wheelies though, wow very impressive, real 12 o clock boys stuff.

Anyone else seeing this round your way?

My 11 year old is currently obsessed with wheelies and can now go the entire length of the street. No black padded jacket though.

Carrera's are awesome wheelie machines apparently, our local park/streets are full of them.

As a 40 something I can still hold my own...thanks to spending much of my youth doing the same thing (although not on a Carrera :-P)

Am disappoint, I thought this thread was going to be about the 1994 BMX film 'Wheelies' 😐

But, yeah, wheelies are cool. Tell them to come back when they can manual as far though 😉

Been going on for years down in Portsmouth. I was driving home from a gig on Halloween (2018, I think) saw about 15-20 lads in black hoodies on bikes, thought it was pretty cool til one of them lobbed an egg at my car and actually dented it. Now I think they're scumbags. Good at wheelies though.
I did this illustration for a bloke off the web

Any fags or special brew involved?

No? Mediocre skillz.

Also... Is it just me that finds that video up there way more entertaining than modern ones with massive tricks, steadycams and go pro's?

There's a load more on youtube if you know what to look for-

and if you can find the full film of Wheelies it's worth a watch 😎 It was up on youtube a couple of years ago but I can't find it now.

Loads. Not a new phenomenon, they've been around for years. Unfortunately they're coupled with zero road sense, the novelty wears off a "cool" wheelie very quickly when they're pack animals wobbling about precariously on the wrong side of the road.

I've never quite been able to recover my 14 yo self's wheelie skills. In retrospect it's quite depressing that my life peaked such a long time ago.

A non-rolling stoppie is an endo 😉

Not here. I've always felt it a necessity to stay upright 😉 Both hands on the bar too.

Me too, I thought it was going to be a rant about insurance replacement choices
