K had a bit of a hard crash last week and is going to be spending some time recovering from a broken iliac crest (upper part of pelvis).

We're clearly going to need a wheelchair for a while and need it to be a fairly good one (we're still planning to go to End of the Road festival and have Chemical Brothers in Victoria Park in a couple of weeks).

Any recommendations from people? I figure it makes more sense to rent a good one that buy a cheap one but a 'heavy duty manual chair' from somewhere like this is c£200 but looks heavy. You can buy what looks like a reasonable lightweight chair for about the same money (or keep heading upwards in price - https://www.uk-wheelchairs.co.uk/wheelchairs-by-type/self-propelled-wheelchairs?limit=12&p=6)

If they're much better happy to buy expensive and sell on (or look at used)

Any advice?

Have a word with your local branch of the British Red Cross. They have all sorts of mobility aids for loan / donation.
We gave my mum’s wheelchair to them when she died. It was less than a year old and in perfect condition but the commercial places buying used kit were offering a paltry sum. Felt much better donating it.

Try the Red Cross, they provide short term loans for a nominal sum/donation

Hmm, might suggest red cross to my family - we've got MIL's reclining chair to get rid of - it cost £3k but no-one wants it. It's wheelable with person in it, and is designed for 'long stays' in the chair.

I 'won' an expensive when new aluminium wheelchair used off eBay when MrsRNP broke her ankle and we needed to do trade shows. Was local but obviously that was down to luck.
I sold it on for the same amount omc3 healed.

There’s a couple of those Mobiquip ones on eBay, including one ending in a few mins. As above, I bet you could sell it on after and lose little if anything.
