Tin opener?

Worst still, bottle opener.

Oh, and who's feeding the cats while you are away?

That's my usual short list.

I left Normandy with my wife and kids a few years back, and as it was a nice day when we set off from Cardiff, I was wearing shorts.

When we got to France the next day, the weather was not so nice. Only, I hadn't packed any trousers.

Oh, how we laughed! I spent the next two weeks slightly cold.

Trousers. Remember yours.

This is tent camping. The nice thing about the caravan is that everything we need just stays in it, so we don't forget stuff.

I've lost my compact camera though and also I swear we had two silk sleeping bag liners, can only find one though.

Things I usually forget,

Bin bags, (cooking) oil, seasoning / condiments. Torch batteries and gas cannisters, check there's actually electrons / gas in them.

My last car camping list(more or less, and minus food), obviously this gets much more compact if it's bike camping.

Plate
Knife
Fork
Gas
Stove head
frying pan

Big jacket

Baby wipes
midgy net

Rum + coke
lighters

Portable battery for phone.
guitar
fishing stuff

Last camping trip 'we' forgot pillows, luckily only a mile down the road so returned for them. Then an hr down the M5 realised 'we' had forgotten something else, what excatly I have now forgotten, anyway we didn't go back for it an managed ok.

Did remember the axe and machete for campfire preperation.

When we got to France the next day, the weather was not so nice. Only, I hadn't packed any trousers.

Once went to Pembrokshire and forgot to pack any t-shirts. Tesco 3 for £10 offer to the rescue. Still server me well for painting/DIY/crawling under cars.

Bog roll
Seat

Is it a dual-purpose seat with hole in the middle?

Tent peg mallet. I forgot mine when I went down to the IoW Festival; fortunately there were plenty of others around to borrow from. Did try banging them in with my foot, but I bent several. I'll be buying some more heavy duty ones for later in the year.
And compiling a list is a good idea, too. I did remember everything else, like my back-up batteries to recharge my phone and camera, because my car was t'other side of the Solent.
Next time it'll be parked by the tent, so I can use that!
