...well, more the wind outside specifically. Upgraded to the near deadly amber weather warning, and I do believe a crisp packet blew by the bay window earlier. Bet the mericans are praying for us all at this time.

Completely still just now, how dramatic are the local media being about 70mph winds?

Here in South Gales, whoops, Wales the Met Office advises...

'Between 20:00 Tue 12th and 10:00 Wed 13th

Storm Aileen is expected to bring very strong winds with gusts of 50-60 mph on Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. The worst of the winds, with gusts to 65-75 mph, are expected to be across North Wales, southern parts of Northern England, the North Midlands and Norfolk, for which area a separate Amber warning is being issued. Longer journey times by road, rail and air are likely, with restrictions on roads and bridges. There is also a chance of power cuts, and damage to trees and perhaps buildings. Along windward-facing coasts, some wave overtopping is possible.'

I'm right on the Devon coast and it's a bit breezy out there to say the least.

I've got pretty used to rain of near biblical proportions while driving in and out of Cornwall on the A30/M5 every day last week, Monday, and again tomorrow.
Power boating without risk of needing to call the coastguard.
I doubt the wind'll be much worse tomorrow, either.

My flight out of Schipol tomorrow afternoon was cancelled earlier today due to predicted storms. Funnily enough, over 7 hours later, my flight into Schipol wasn't cancelled . I've cancelled the whole lot myself now and rebooked via Frankfurt

I had a curry earlier, we'll see if the wind's noisier inside or out...

It's woken me up and now I can't get back to sleep.

My Mrs left a small window slightly open in the bathroom and the wind has blown various shampoo bottles off the sill into the bath. I'm expecting a BBC news crew around shortly to take some photos.

Its been well windy around Didcot but I have to recalibrate my hearing as the 60ft beech that overhung my attic bedroom was removed a couple of weeks back. Everything sounds different. No creaking, no nuts falling and no squirrels chasing them.

Edit: Sounded a bit windy but was enough to take a laden branch off one of the elderly apple trees. 🙁

Never came to much in Leeds. If it's isn't bad enough wake us and force us to decamp out of our attict bedroom, it isn't that bad. Spare room always ready for stormy nights...

Haven't managed to go properly for about 4-5 days, until this morning. Pooee!

Feeling better in the tummy department, but a little bit queasy all of a sudden as well for some reason.

Thanks for asking though, I appreciate it.

Just picked up the windfalls from the little apple tree, debating whether to strip it and sore them or give it another week.

Likewise, we appear to have lost a few apples from the trees!

Strong here in NE England - makes me glad I'm not a cycle courier these days.

Can hear the "booooom" throught the double glazing which is unusual!

I've cleared Tesco of bottled water and beans. See you on the other side.

Take care.
