DEFINITELY won this one! Upon opening my marks and sparks luxury vegetable selection I discovered that the braised red cabbage had been inadequately sealed and was mouldy. Christmas: ruined. I feinted (not really)

The price of hand-dived scallops at Leeds fish market today; fishmonger said wholesale price has been jacked up by £5/kg this week.
£22 for 12 big fat ones!

Currently coming towards the end of my engineering degree, I've got lots of useful contacts in industry from doing a placement year, but I really fancy doing a year of ski guiding/resort work when I graduate as otherwise I feel I'll regret not doing it!

This isn't helped by my brother having just landed what looks to be a fantastic ski/walk guiding job in Italy last minute!

Sainsburys didn't deliver the Port that I'd ordered for Christmas dinner, so I'll have to leave the house and mix with the proletariat in the store to go and buy some

I'm back at my tailor's next week, and I'm torn between two jacket linings.

The potential need to put Longs on now to go and get my bike out of the mancave means applying chamois cream earlier than needed, and before i put my contacts in 😕

I'd get them to fix that while you're there 🙂

This morning's breakfast Moët was corked!

Fortunately the beer fridge is well stocked with champagne, but a bit of a shame anyway.

Not sure if downloading minecraft on my xbox live account will cause problems for mini aracer when he wants to play it later. Should probably start a thread about that...

😐 never heard of that, generally use a decent quality cork and isn't in the bottle long enough ?

Mrs B wasn't well so could not join big family dinner last night. Watched the excellent Alan Bennet diaries instead (thanks to PSA from bikebouy)

My labradors always knock over my hunters when they run out of the backyard porch, but I can't put said hunters on the other side of said porch because that's where the tumble drier vent is and if left there they get soggy.

Sydney to Hobart is going down in record time so they are due to hit the line at about midnight. For the second year running a black boat with black sails will cross the line in the dark and it's the day before the food and drink festival open so there is no party to go to first.
I'll just have to redit last years video

I had the misfortune to get a puncture on Christmas Eve . I'm currently queuing in kiwi fit with the most odious ,self-entitled humans I've encountered . To put the top hat on it ,Daniel's bakery didn't have cinamon babka.

Green grocer had run out of flat leaf parsley, had to use curly leaf in Saturday's Baba Ganoush. We had friends coming over and it ruined the evening for me.

I've been thinking about changing our car. Should I buy a cheap new one or a newish 2nd hand one?

The mileage on most 3 year old cars seem high compared to our current car. 67,000 miles, but it's 12 years old and is running up some bills lately. New heater motor £300, O2 sensor £225 quid etc, etc......

Mind you, I could pay for a lot of repairs and still spend less than the cost of a replacement.

People don't properly capitalise their addresses in their paypal account, so when I import the address details from ebay to my postal services, I find myself obliged to retype all the names and postcodes. Because I, at least, have standards and I should hate to think that postmen and couriers are judging me.

I've got two new frames arriving at the start of January but have no idea which on to build first.
The hardtail that was ordered over six months ago but will be mainly built with bits from another bike or the full suss that was only ordered a few weeks back but is being built from the massive pile of new parts that are waiting for it to arrive.
I can't cope with all the pressure.

Excitedly waiting for the insurance company to get back to me regarding what I can replace my two stolen bikes with. It has been a week (during which time I received some lovely Christmas gifts, and indulged in lots of food and drink), and they have yet to get back to me.

Oh, the inconvenience and hardship!

I've run out of money to buy myself a post Christmas birthday present (my birthday is coming Sunday) as it's my wife's 40th on Wednesday and I've arranged a trip to Barcelona for us later in the year AND I need spending money for skiing on the 21st.

Honestly, my life sucks!

My new TV doesn't have the all 4 app. I have to switch to the firestick to use it.

My Dyson v6's battery doesn't last long enough for my liking.

i bought a nice shirt in the sales and I'm wearing it today but it's cold so I've got a jumper on top of it.

I could have been wearing an old crappy shirt instead.

I can't find my 0.3mm Rotring drawing pen, so I've just had to use a 0.4mm. The results look clumsy, and lack finesse. My evening is now ruined

My eldest Godson (11), who lives in a massive house in Abu Dhabi and goes to private school and whose parents are really quite well off was moaning about the poor quality of the dubbing on the Asterix film we were watching on a mahoosive LED TV with Bose soundbar over New Year...
His parents have done a very good job though - he knows what a First World Problem is 🙂
