TV works fine (I can watch via USB) except it won't receive live TV through the aerial.
I've run it through autotuning and nothing, I've just bought an indoor aerial in case there was damage to the aerial outside and nothing.
Weak or no signal is all it says.
It's a Samsung and worked perfectly before moving.
I'm lumping for user error, but I can't find what this user has done wrong as I followed a couple of tips given on Google and they all say the same.
Are you sure it's an aerial feed you're plugging into? My sister moved house and her TV wouldn't pick up any stations in the new place. Turned out what looked like an aerial socket was hooked up to a dish.
It's most defeinitely ANT IN on the back of the TV, and it's connected to an indoor aerial so should be working, but it isn't.
The No Signal or Weak Signal message indicates the TV is detecting a connection, but it is not receiving a signal from that connection. You may see this message when you select any device, an antenna, or a direct cable line as your source. The conditions for receiving this message and recommended solutions are listed below.
If you are using a direct RF Connection from Cable or an Antenna as the video source, follow these steps:
Turn the TV on, and then press SOURCE one or more times until you see either AIR or CABLE appear in the upper left corner. You may see a "No Devices Are Connected" message. If so, disregard this step. If you still are not getting a picture, continue to Step 2.
Press the ANTENNA button. This will switch between the 2 RF inputs on the TV. If you still are not getting a picture, continue to Step 3.
Make sure that your TV is connected properly and all the connections are firm. See your user's manual or click here. If you still are not getting a picture, continue to Step 4.
Connect this TV to another antenna or cable line that you know is working. If the TV displays a picture, the problem is not in the TV. You can also connect another working TV to this antenna or cable line. If you do not get a picture on the test TV, the problem is not in the Samsung TV.
If you are using an RF Connection coming from a Cable Box, Satellite Box, or Recording Device as the video source, follow these steps:
Make sure the cable box, satellite box, or recording device is on.
Turn the TV on, and then press SOURCE one or more times until you see either AIR or CABLE appear in the upper left corner. You may see a "No Devices Are Connected" message on the screen. If so, disregard this step.
Enter the 2 digit channel number that you use for an RF Output Channel. In most areas of the country, this would be either channel 3 or 4. If you do not know what your RF Output Channel is, contact your cable or satellite provider.
If you are still are not seeing a picture, press ANTENNA button on the TV remote, and then repeat Step 2.
If you are using a device such as a DVD player, follow these steps:
Turn on the device.
Turn on the TV, and then press SOURCE one or more times until you are on the input that you have connected the device to.
Cheers drac, but that's the first Google hit and it hasn't solved it, hence coming here. The instructions don't match what I have on screen either.
Any thunder storms near you recently?
Weak or no signal seems the real answer. Who knows if the original owner could get a decent signal ? Its very possible an indoor ariel doesn't work, we used to get very variable results in our old house with an indoor ariel depending which room. The main house one had a booster (maybe not of any use with digital these days)
We had a chap come and fit an aerial. Set it all up on the roof, down the ladder, plugged it in, and nothing. A few minutes head scratching before he phoned the office and they checked on line. The transmitter had gone off air in the few minutes between climbing down the ladder and turning on the TV.
So check the obvious!
Can't get a freeview signal where I live. We have to use freesat or sky on my road. It's the hills.
^^^ same at my parents in Hampshire, not even very hilly
Telly's ok but our broadband's carked it - bloody immigrants. 🙁

Nice story, thanks.
Balls to it! I didn't want to watch the footy anyway.
It could always have got broken in the move.
Have you not got a freeview PVR as well, which you could use to also check the signal.
Unlikely to have two faulty tuners.
If not you should get one - who doesn't have a PVR these days ?
Try it at a friend's/neighbours house...or start asking on badcaps.net. lots of tv repair folk on there...just fixed my tv for ~80p.
When I moved in to my (8 year old house), I discovered that the aerial socket wasn't plumbed in - the previous owner had always used Sky. However, there was cabling up to the loft for a proper aerial (which is easy enough to install. Hint: you need a compass). The indoor aerials are (IME) pretty useless on big TVs.
Sounds more likely to be an aerial problem than the TV. Do you know it works / was working / has ever been used since the analogue switchoff?
You're not trying to tune in analogue channels are you?
Does the aerial use a powered signal booster that needs to be turned on somewhere in the house?
Otherwise, try an old video recorder, megadrive or similar that outputs a RF signal and see if that works. If that's fine it works on analogue so may be a problem with the TV's own digital/freeview tuner.
OP this could be rubbish but with a poor analogue signal younused to get at least a fuzzy pocture on one or two channels. With digital it just goes pixelated or nothing. As above I suspect that ariel may never have worked with digital, my parents have to have sky/freesat

This is what I figured as the TV was working prior and was moved in its original box with original packaging, so unlikely to have been damaged. I have no idea on the aerials's history, but I would have thought that the indoor aerial would have borne something.
You're not trying to tune in analogue channels are you?
I've tried digital, analogue, through thee aerial and via cable. Pretty much everything has been tried to no avail.

This, are you sure the ANT source is actually connected to anything?
Do you have access to a Freeview Box that can be used as an alternative device to test the source?
Any mates with a small TV you could borrow?
I've tried digital, analogue, through thee aerial and via cable.
Have you just "tried" different stations or are you actually going through the tuning process? It'll almost certainly need a retune if you've moved house.
Forget analogue. It doesn't exist.
What "cable"? Are you talking about the internal and external aerials here?
I've done it automatically, manually and with bells on.
Cable is a choice you get in the Samsung menu for tuning, either aerial or cable.
I've tried everything and I'll probably take somewhere to test with a known and functioning aerial to eliminate a knackered TV.
There's nothing more I can try here.
so unlikely to have been damaged
it was moved, so entirely possible.
Plus it's a Samsung...
Done a full factory reset? It's not trying to be too clever and basing channel search upon an entered postcode etc ? Unlikely but you never know.
And.. how do you know the aerial is in good order, did the previous occupants use it?
