Four parcels delivered today (Sunday) in three deliveries, although it may have been the same guy did the second and third delivery- all sent second or first class, not special delivery. Don't recall this in previous years. Is it usual, or is there still hangover from the strikes?

Massive amount of post apparently. Held tell that they were renting and borrowing all the vans they could to get deliveries done. Online shopping i'd guess.

Our PO only normally open between 0930-1630 for collection over Christmas they are opening from 0630 until 1730! basically they can't store all the parcels so have to open early to get rid of them! Online shopping is most definately the way forward.

Worked from 7am to 12 am delivering parcels today due to a HUGE backlog,Mangers could not be "bothered/would not listen to us" to sort the parcels to certain areas and just told to taKe out containers that were stacked up which caused us to cross each others routes.

Moronic Rich!

I tried to, but I'm too thick to work out how to.

Can't you provide a link for thickos like me ?

Or are you too stupid to know how to ?

BTW, why did your mate think it was "thicko hell".........did they give him a hard time for being a bit thick ?

The posties seem to have done well over the last week or so - I've had quite a few things delivered the morning after they were posted

Curiosity as to why there were three deliveries on a Sunday, when normally we'd have none.

Don't work for Royal Mail but doing temp work for another delivery company. Typically two people will run a route each day, one in the morning and the next about 3 hours later with another van full of parcels.

Some people do get two deliveries. I sort mine out into street order in the depot, but occasionally screw up and find something left over in the van which should have been delivered and have to go crawling back with apologies.

Better than one company *cough* TNT *cough* who left a pile of boxes sitting on someone's doorstep in a dodgy bit of Plymouth. I collected them and redelivered the set later on, can't believe the attitude some drivers have.

All seems a bit random here. I bought 5 things off ebay last week - all despatched Wednesday - one (from Superstar) arrived next day, the others I'm still waiting for 😕 . Also, extremely scarily, waiting for the results of Woz dirt's Oxford interviews last week . . . prays quietly . . . he's worked so hard he really deserves this . . .

Can't fault my local post office depot or post girl, she's a gem, likes riding a bike, takes the mick about the number of CRC packages always smiling whatever the weather, always waits for my wife to get to the door & even puts the wheely bins back in for the old dears.

Suzanne take a bow 🙂

Royal Mail are pretty good here in Norn Irn as well. Never had a problem with them and the postie is always cheerful, even in the crap weather we're having at the moment.

I have 5 parcels that were sent first class over a week ago, not one has arrived.

We normally get around 8-10 letters in the post everyday, more at this time of year. On Friday we got 1 letter and on Saturday we got nothing. Something can't be right!

Our posties seem quite good.

Shame about our bin men though, they're going to go on strike, think its a disgrace. Loads of people out of work and they have the neck to complain that a pay rise isn't enough.

I had a small parcel sent to france on monday. Still not here 🙁
Where is it :'(
but then I can understand it's Xmas and people are too lazy to go to the shop.
I think now rich and all should go on strike just to have a little more power to their hands.

Gonna leap to RM's defence here over those "Royal Mail Morons" videos talked about earlier.

They're just doing what everyone does at work when they can get away with it: dick around. I've not had a job yet that didn't involve a healthy amount of arsing around whenever there was the chance.

Yup, it gets on people's goats as it apparently "delays the mail" but they're only human like the rest of us and humans like to have fun.

Merry Xmas, posties!
