Ok, my google foo is failing me...
Anyone know what this little critter is?
Had a few of them and their offspring (larvae) munching into an old ferret hutch which I got rid of a few weeks ago.
This little fellow was just crawling through my kitchen door...
It's about 8mm long and the larvae was more or less just a white maggot.
Do I need to nuke my house from orbit or what?
Looks like a bad link
Edited now!
A[s] bad[/s] good link beetle 🙂

Do you have a larder ?
Siberian Arse Beetle. They travel in pairs, a little one (in the photo) and a much, much bigger one that crawls up the victim's bum then eats its way out through the stomach.
Have you seen the bigger one?
Have you seen the bigger one?
Was eaten by a baby robin.
Nope no larder...
Interestingly I can't see anything suggesting that they are wood borers.
So do we think I'll be ok not nuking my house then?

I was en-lighted with this knowledge some time back on here 🙂
from fasthaggis' link
occasionally tunnel into soft wood to pupate
Also says they mostly eat food scraps or corpses. Where's your mother in law ?
