It LOOKS like 50 over cricket but bears no relationship to what I've seen England play before?

Quite good though.

Great isn't it. Looks like a 350 total is on?
May be up to how the new lads bowl.

Shame about 2 quick wickets. We need to make use of all the overs

Couple of cheap wickets there but wgaf. Keep going, if we get bowled out in 46 or 47 so what. We need first and foremost to play positive, as a young team we can refine our game play at a later date.

Crossed in the post there. We're playing arguably one of the best sides in the world - play positive, the result isn't so important. We can refine later.

And the new bowlers need to learn to defend a total too...... 😉

You take play positive too far if it becomes reckless...

...we shall see.

As the commentator said, sometimes you have to stop and think!

3-11 in 14 is reckless not positive - but let's see!

I agree, in hindsight they'll look back and say they muffed the final overs, but you learn best by failing and then refining why you failed....

Actually, nass and athers are basically saying what I want to say. Results don't matter as much as learning this new game.

Aside - why do the commentators and presenters have to be in collar and tie for one day games? Test matches, maybe.

Should they be wearing pyjamas too!!

Funny as the sartorially elegant Athers noted that bowlers walking of smiling having been hit for 300!

Mixed views on this. Exciting but frustrating at the same time. It's basically becoming straight slogging, albeit skilful slogging 😉 But like any form of instant gratification it can (at times) go too far.

I'm feeling quite gratified right now. 100 partnership in 60-something balls!!

I'm glad we are copying NZ, rather than Aus. The kiwis play hard but fair - Mccullum insists his team uphold the spirit of the game, unlike the foul mouthed Aussies.

Both the test series and ODI's have been a revelation for England. Free the mind, free the body!!

Brilliant last game too. How fast will the scoring be in the T20's!

I think the Kiwis should be applauded for their attitude. They have been a breath of fresh air and a reminder that sport can be played hard and fair.

Not only that but they are a very good team who should be given more matches from now on, at least a three match series, maybe more.

Lets us hope that all teams continue to play in similar fashion and cricket will become far better for it.

Can we please have the New Zealanders over EVERY year? An epic series of cricket all round, and the pyjama game tonight sounds like it's continuing in the same manner!
