Description
Fear Inoculum is the long awaited new album from TOOL, and the band's first new album in 13 years. The album will be available digitally, and in a special Limited Edition physical package that includes a CD in a tri-fold Soft Pack Video Brochure featuring a 4" HD rechargeable screen with exclusive video footage, a USB charging cable, a 2 watt speaker and a 36 page insert book and MP3 download card. Tool members include drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, bassist Justin Chancellor and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. To date, Tool has released four studio albums, one EP, and one box set. Formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California Tool emerged with a heavy metal sound on their first studio album, Undertow in 1993. Later, Tool became a dominant act in the alternative metal movement with the release of its follow-up album Ænima in 1996. The band's efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution continued with the release of Lateralus in 2001, and 10,000 Days in 2006 - gaining Tool critical acclaim, and commercial success around the world. Tool has won three Grammy Awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.
I can get it for £46 delivered from Amazon USA
I'm probably gonna do that, I've listened to the single a few times & I like, but still....😱
I paid £15 for a CD single in 1996.
How is it 46 from Amazon I'd pay that but 80 is a bit much from Amazon uk
why so expensive? That's just stupid.
It's actually $37 on Amazon but shipping taxes & brexit/Amazon's shitty exchange rate brings it to £46
Oh well ordered
I haven't bought a CD for many years - are they region specific like DVD's are?
I paid £35 for an EP
I'd struggle to tell you which CD album was the last one I bought or how much I paid for it, nevermind which album I paid the most for. Pretty sure it was under £15.
What little music I listen to at home is now exclusively played from the interweb, streaming has replaced physical media for us, so much so the Blu ray/CD player is still in the old pc base unit that got replaced ~5+ years ago.
Does that mean Nirvana was the most expensive CD you bought?

Must be worth £46 for an album then!
I'd download it for free just to show us Tool fans ain't mugs. Or are we?
(then I'd spend the £46 on new artists who need the money)
Big bands these days do seem to want to milk their fans more than ever before...
£40 for a gatefold version of New Order’s Substance double album.
£55 for a 12” of Ideal for Living
why so expensive?
comes with a HD video screen and speaker?
Apparently 6 music just played the entire 10 minutes 12 seconds of the new single too!
Does that mean Nirvana was the most expensive CD you bought?
As it happens, I do have that album (Nervermind) somewhere from my days of yoof... But no, I could not categorically state which album in my old collection cost me the most, but being an honorary Scot I very much doubt I ever paid more than 15 squids for a single album. 😉
I don't imagine they'll top the lenticular image of the San Andreas going down from ænima. Looking forward to hearing the regular version of the cd at a reasonable price, although it appears the mp3 version is 10mins longer.
Ugly Duckling’s Taste the Secret album, £26 for the import and worth every penny.
£7/10s for the Woodstock live triple gatefold the day it came out in 1969 or so. Listened to it until it wore out. That was a week's wages.
I paid 30 quid for the last Clutch album, clear vinyl with a sticker included signed by the band. I like vinyl but 30 quid is as steep as I'll go for limited edition whatever, 20 quid is probably closer to the norm.
New single is great and last week they joined the digital age and put all their music online, so assume you can get the album for free once released

It’s a great album too. Then again I don’t think Clutch have ever made a bad one.
I paid twenty five pounds for the crossing* by Big Country!
*in blue sleeve.
I was 15
I also paid twenty pounds for the same album with a red sleeve.
I was 16.
😃
I think I paid ~£20 for Neil Young's Eldorado ep back when it was available as a japanese import (late 80's sometime?)...
Just bought a split prophets ep for £40 (limited 60 pressing).
I sold a digital mystikz 12" on eBay for £100 but it got damaged in transit and was returned for a refund. Now have 3 pieces of vinyl that are worth £300 in today's market if in one piece!

Which is why nobody earns any money from streaming services. It’s little better than legalised piracy.

Probably Drexciya 'The Quest', which goes for £50+ now. But I've spent £20+ on singles / white labels. Though not since the 90s...
A Tool fan here. Lateralus on vinyl is probably my most expensive purchase- can’t remember exactly but it was upwards of £50. Will probably get their new one on vinyl too.
