Keep getting weird spiders in the back yard. Bodies the size of a pea and varying from brown to bright orange, massive daddy-long-legs legs and even longer tendril things, the damn thing must be eight inches across at full stretch.

Any ideas? (Also, how do I get rid of the buggers?)

Harvestman spiders

They'll go when summer does.

Ah, cheers. That looks about right.

They went when summer did last year, then came back when this year's started.

They're migratory. They head south to overwinter in Bolton (24A to Chorley then jump on the train - they get a deal for group bookings at the Travelodge there) and return in the spring to lay their eggs in the ears of Information Technologists.

Also, how do I get rid of the buggers?

Don't just enjoy them - have a look at them with a magnifying glass (maybe when its not too sunny 🙂 ) they look like science fiction.

Fact of the day; harvestman aren't actually spiders.
