Before I pull the trigger on a new workbench - what's hot at the moment?
(replacing my current narrow wooden workbench. Can't go any bigger than this.)

Im making one! It's only cost about £25 in materials have a go yourself.

I've got the machine mart version which appears just to be, more expensive and red.. I't's been a great bench though. Easy to put up, sturdy and enough space. Go for it...

Amateurs - the only proper way to secure a vise is with a g-clamp or maybe two 🙂
If it does what you want then I doubt you could make something that does the same things as the one you've linked to for less cash - things like peg board can be tricky to get hold of too.
An old fire door can make a good basis for a diy bench
