Anyone do anything special food wise on Xmas eve? Here it will be pheasant butties (with chips!) and I'll sample some of my whiskey collection. Looking forward to my bottle of Glenrothes!

Chinese take away, probably. Washed down with too much beer and wine, hopefully

Loads of random buffet nibbles and cake. I'm trying not to eat too much on xmas eve because I want to get drunk.

Our friends are very generous, invite our group of friends over for snacks & a small tipple or two. Good to see everyone even if for an hour, before we all plunge into the family events over the next week

We make some lobster thermadore, grilled prawns and some nice sourdough bread washed down by a petite chablis.

Christmas eve is always our main christmas meal as we have homemade pizza on the big day which leaves plenty of time to enjoy family time.

One of our pets goes in the pot.

Note - pictures from last year... Lola got off the hook and Larry went for the hot swim!

Mrs J is talking of either left squash curry OR chicken & pasta bake.

As she's at work and at the mercy of Network Rail to get back, reduced service after 1pm I'm planning on surprising her with -

Spicy Butternut Squash risotto washed down with a crate of white wine.

For tea? Well, I'd imagine I'll have a nice cup of tea.

Dinner, however, will be ham, egg and chips, same as every year.

(Ignoring "tea")

Buffet type affair at my Grandmas with the family, hot pork & beef sarnies, then on to the pub with uncles/cousins/brother and sis in law. I'll be driving though as work early Christmas Day and don't trust myself not to get drunk.

Same every year, bit of a family tradition. Sausage, mash, beans, greens and onion gravy. Gotta be top quality sausages tho!!!

I've proposed Tariflette to Mrs Lunge but she is not convinced at the moment. I suspect it will be some kind of seafood, maybe mussels, but we'l have to see what I am instructed to cook.

Whatever it is, I will be forced to attack some good wine to wash it down.

Buffet type nibbles around the roaring chiminea - weather permitting.
Hoping it snows because I'm lighting garden up with Xmas lights.
Lots of gluhwein to keep us warm 🙂

I fancied venison but have had to settle for (cow) steak as no-one else was up for eating Rudolf.

Prawn cocktail, cheese n biscuits, smoked salmon buffet type fodder. Washed down with strong foreign lager/beer (so I'm not feeling rough off the big day).

Merry Christmas one and all!
