Need to get one for my daughter who’s just moved into a static van for a new job (living the high life!).

Will be long term use as there’s no phone line.

I know it's the usual question but why doesn't she just use her phone as a hotspot. Coverage should be fine for a static caravan.

Although I guess it will be annoying having to plug it in to charge more often.

Until very recently we used an EE 4gee home router, covered most of our 5 bed home. Only reason we've stopped using is we now have FTTP.

I'm using a Three 5g HUB ( only have 4g in Area at the moment) in my office at the bottom of the garden. Costs me around £20 a month.

Just did an internet speed test and getting  55Mb/ s download and 17.5 Mb / S upload which is more than enough for me.

Also have security cameras connected through it , so no wires for a potential thief to snip if they wanted to knock out your system in one go 😉

I've just checked the Three website & they give a good indoors signal at my postcode but when I try to buy a mobile router/SIM it says not available in your area.

Thanks all - we've decided to go down the Phone Hotspot route for now and up the data allowance on her current plan. This saves buying a new router and another monthly fee for a new SIM.

Seems to be working so far. She's connected her Firestick and was able to stream OK.

I assume there's no detriment to the phone though for long-term use?
