Need to buy a gift for someone but I know nothing about wine...
Bonus point's if it's available from a supermarket, but can buy online, too.
No specific budget, but less than £20 a bottle is preferable!
Great £20 red

Arabella, from S Africa is good.
Kimbao from Chile.
Dammit, I just ordered a botte of the COYAM, but noticed it's a Shiraz and not a Cabernet Sauvignon.
Oh well, they will just have to like it, I guess! 😀
Robert Mondavi, from California. Might not fit the budget but it’s real good.
Why cab sauv?
Expand your/friend's taste horizons; go on, disappear down the rabbit hole where it's wet and alcoholic - hic...
Be a little different - musar from the lebanon, either jeune or pere et fils.
Argentinian malbec; cabernet franc from chile; chateauneuf du pape - the list goes on...as do I...
Visit your local indy wine shop; if you don't have one, waitrose; if you don't have one of them either, your nearest large tesco.
Just tell the recipient it's been gargled and dribbled by oz clark and jilly goolden or any other pretentious commentator you prefer.

I think that's exaclty what I will do! 🙂
Why cab sauv?
That's just what they requested... I can bore someone to death when it comes to hipster beer, but wine is a bit of a mystery to me..I suspect it's the same sketch though...it either tastes nice or it tastes like arse!
And even that depends... sometimes I like a sour fruit beer, sometimes more of a traditional 'session IPA' etc..
Although it seems like 'cab sauv' and 'Shiraz' arn't a million miles apart, taste, waise... wish me luck!

Yes! Though I prefer their Pinotage to their CS and to their Shiraz. 😋
OP, don’t you have a local vintner who can help you select the ideal bottle? Or a Majestic wine warehouse?
Some of the selections from these might inspire

Avoid anything described as "fruity". Though if you're spending £20 you should be fine.
