I was moving the washing machine earlier and these fell out of the bottom, any ideas what they are?

I suspect that they're to do with the transportation bolts. I think they were probably inside the machine, in between the back panel and the drum. When I took the bolts out (when I bought the machine a few years ago) they were presumably lodged inside and they've just fallen out as it's probably the first time the machine's been moved since then.

In fact I've just found this link which almost confirms that that's what they are.

Somewhere, a dog made out of springs, is missing it's legs.

Assuming they're not springer spaniel related 🙂

Anyone else had similar looking things fall out of their washing machines?

Transit bolts to stop that slab of concrete wobbling about when it's moved?

transit bolts to stop the drum wobbling around when its moved. or transit bolts to be left in if you want to destroy a kitchen.... not by me, but a "plumber" who used to work for the same firm....

what machine is it ??
Id say they were feet - but no threaded screw for leveling 😐

Transit screws are just that - screws....

Hmmm

I'm pretty certain they're related to the packing/transportation bolts.

The red cups fit perfectly to indentations on the inside of the machine where the bolts go through.

The springs+cups are the exact distance between the back of the machine and the back of the drum.

They look very similar to the things I linked to above that call themselves transit bolts.
We used the machine on Sunday and it didn't seem to miss having them so I'm happy that they're non-essential.

The transit bolts are indeed bolts but they go through spacers which are required to hold the concrete firmly in position. When I took the bolts out of mine it also liberated some spacers, but they were solid plastic rather than those up-market spring affairs.

Years ago, I bought a Zanussi washing machine. One of the 'selling points' the salesdroid highlighted to me was how firm the drum was in the Zanussi, demonstrated by wobbling the drums about by hand. The Zanussi was indeed a lot more solid than the others.

Got my machine installed, removed the transit bolts, and the drum was just as wobbly as all the others.

(Not that that influenced my purchase, I was just a bit vexed at being misled)
