I'm on call from 21st 'til 28th. So not actually grafting, but have to go out at a moment's notice. No booze at Christmas means being sober through all the traditional carp that I normally need a bit of lubrication to get through. I'm hoping to be called out all day Christmas, with just an hour or so off for dinner.

Yep, me too.

I don't mind it too much as it gives me the opportunity to sort out all sorts of stuff while most of the great unwashed are on holiday, meaning that I can take my holidays when everyone else is working through the busy periods.

For the first time in five years, I have the whole period off. I'm leaving work on the 21st and heading to Canadia on the 22nd. I am on call for at least a couple of the days that I am out, but I'm going to be relying on mobile comms on top of a mountain for that.

I pretty much finished today, most of my customers are a away over xmas, I have one garden clearance to finish off but that's just rubbish away. Go back to it 2nd week of Jan and will start the year very busy which is great being self employed. Plan on riding a lot over the next few weeks.

I'm off from tomorrow until the 4th Jan, I usually only take 3 or 4 days around Christmas but have so much holiday allowance left it's a case of use it or lose it. Still have to connect in a couple of times to approve timesheets but hopefully that's it...

On 'light duties' for next few weeks, catching up on admin really.
Wife is working late Christmas Eve and early Christmas Day but then off until 29th when she starts a run of nights and twilight a over new year. Says something about working in healthcare (she's an ENP) when that's the best Christmas rota she's had for years!

I've been off since 27th November (redundancy from old job), new job starts 4th Jan.

I could get used to this life of semi-leisure. GF is working pretty much all the time apart from Christmas Day so no chance of going away anywhere interesting though.

I'm supposed to finish on the 23rd as I'm working my notice up till the 31st and had holiday left to take which allowed me to finish on the 23rd.
This may dramatically change since I opened my email this morning to find my final payslip with a £600 deduction for pay in lieu of holiday.
I await my response to the snotty email I've fired off to payroll.
If it's not one I like I might be finished by lunchtime today.

Technically I'll be between jobs from the 31st till the 12th, payday January is going to be a minimal one!

I'm finishing tomorrow then flying up to Edinburgh for a few day (pre-Christmas mini-break with the kids)
I'm back in work Christmas eve, knowing that we'll get sent home at around midday.
I'm then working on the 29th + 31st - mostly because they'll be short days, and I want to save my holiday for warmer weather + taking my daughter to hospital appointments.

Pig face - you shouldn't be working a continuous 24hr shift, remember we work at the same place!!!

I am on standby over Xmas and NY for 2 weeks on flood duty - hoping it doesn't rain as we don't want more flood misery over another Xmas time. 🙁

Last day in the office is tomorrow, back on the 4th, but I'm working from home 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

We're open all over Xmas, but our childminder is off for two weeks and my Wife can't take holidays at Xmas - she's not working Xmas day this year, but Xmas eve and Boxing Day she is 🙁

We were handed a nice little surprise a few weeks ago. Seeing as the 26th isn't a Bank Hol they want anyone who is rota'd in on that day to work the time on a different day over the Xmas period. Excellent - thanks very much! The office is actually closed on that day so I'm not sure how they worked this out. (I've a feeling that they told me that and then a day later asked me to fill in the Times Best Places To Work survey. 🙄 )

Be a monster pay month in January, I'm doing 6-6 on the 24th, 26th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 1st and 2nd of Jan. Boxing Day is 300% hourly rate, the bank holiday to make up for it is 250% and I think New Years Day is as well ££££££££££

Finish today normally until Jan 4th but I've a baby due today which should land at the weekend so I've got an extra week off paternity leave. Not much riding time for me but I won't complain about 24 days off

Finish early afternoon Christmas Eve, back in the 4th.

TBH I'd rather have the 3 days they make us take out of our entitlement for in between Christmas and New Years somewhere in the summer but hey ho!

Just been informed that tomorrow is my last day and seeing as we're off out for lunch and the boss is paying (at my choice of Restaurant, so no moaning about crap food etc.. )I'll only be in till 12:00 noon.

back in officially on Mon 4th Jan. not bad considering I've only got 2 days holiday left until 31st Dec 15. 😆

Xmas and holidays just like every other day when you have several hundred farm animals to look after. Luckily it is a fairly quiet time of year anyway (unless it snows). Thankfully I don't do christmas so it won't actually make an iota of difference to me

Finish on 23rd, back on the 4th of january- we get a bunch of extra "building closed" days through the year. What I particularily like is that they don't tell you about this when they advertise positions, so I started just before easter and almost immediately got 2 paid days off, then christmas came round and I said "so, what days do we get off?" "All of em basically"

Though, this did lead to one new start not getting told about the easter days, and going to work anyway. She was not amused.

I'm working til Wednesday next week then back in boxing day, then not back again til the 2nd which isn't too bad considering I only booked new years off!

Feel really sorry for my mate who's doing 8-8 shifts as a paramedic over the whole xmas/new years period.
