Asking for a friend. (Honestly, I am very happy with my Transit).
It's an 08 plate. Is it as ubiquitous as the internet makes out, and is it just a case of peering down into the injectors to look for a rusty mess to identify the problem?
Thanks.
I thought it was the 2009 model year but it may have been 2008.
Some will go on for ever, some will have a problem. Removing the injectors is then the issue as they corrode in place.,
Does the corrosion itself not cause problems, such as poor sealing, electrical and pipework connections degradation etc?
2020.

It's poor sealing that causes the corrosion. There's a foam seal where the metal scuttle plate abuts the body of the van, just below the windscreen. Water getting behind that drips onto the injectors. IIRC newer models have an additional cover over the injector area (the scuttle may have been changed too).

Yeah, I understand that. I was thinking of the pressure seal between the head and injector if there's a pool of water sitting there.
The injectors went on my 58 plate at 130,000 miles. Ended up getting rid as cost to replace was almost as much as value of van. Now have a Transit & people saying injectors are very poor on Euro 6 engine going on very low mileage.
As far as I know it was either 2010 or 2011 when the scuttle panel was fixed and stopped leaking water on the injectors.
I have a 61 plate Traffic (same as a the Vivaro) and to my knowledge that should have been after they fixed the problem.
My 08 injectors were replaced at 52k
Cost around £1500 and that was supposed to be trade price from a mate
Cheers all. Honest John had a similar end date to your suggestion jairaj, (2010). I've warned her and suggested that one of those independent used vehicle checks might be a good idea, specifically checking for the issue.
